Praying Sabu's Tooth Surgery Goes Great Tomorrow!

This message was posted on FB last week by In-Sync Exotics:

Sabu has a toothache! It's been quite a problem for him, and medication isn't really helping, so we have made the decision to take him to the vet on Wednesday morning to have it removed. It's not a decision we have made lightly, as Sabu is 23 years old and we understand the risks with surgery, but we are really not able to keep him comfortable without removing that tooth. We'll keep you all posted.

Needless to say, I will be on pins and needles tomorrow--waiting for successful news about my handsome boy's tooth surgery.

I pray God is with the boy tomorrow and that he will be healed so he can resume eating again.  I've noticed in some pictures posted on Facebook that Sabu looked rather thin.  I imagine it is because he is having trouble chewing his food. I pray the surgery will correct this problem so he can gain much needed weight before the cold winter settles in around him. God Bless you tomorrow, Sabu!!

Run, Sabu, Run!!

Wonderful, wonderful news!  Sabu is running again!  I never saw him run at the WAO and I thought I would never see Sabu walk completely normally again, let alone run, because of the treatment he received at the WAO.

But Praise God, Sabu is running again!  What a miracle!  This truly speaks to the power of love!

If you want to see what I mean, then click here to see past videos of Sabu (like when he first arrived as In-Sync Exotics) and you'll see why this is an amazing victory for Sabu and In-Sync!

The Sabu Running Video is a little out of focus, but I don't care!  Sabu is running after a ball!

Thank you so much, In-Sync, for giving Sabu and second chance at life, love, and fun!

Sabu, Can you Hear Me Now?

A few of days ago, Sabu's ear swelled up slightly and it became clear something was wrong as Sabu continuous rubbed his ear against his enclosure.  Concerned, Vicky called in the vet and last night I received a progress report on precious Sabu.

As suspected, Sabu had an ear infection.  The ear was clean thoroughly and Sabu was placed on antibiotics for the infection.  In no time, Sabu should be able to hear Vicky ask him, "Hey Sabu, can you hear me now?"

Needless to say, Sabu had to be lightly sedated so the doctor could perform the exam.  Sedation for Sabu, at his age, is a risk, so all precautions were taken to ensure he recovered quickly from the sedation.

When Sabu recovered from the light sedation, he only wanted lots of love and attention-- he just wasn't interested in taking all his meds.  Who can blame him!  He is such a love bug!

Later:

Well, isn't this interesting... Kovu also had an ear infection per the e-newletter I received on July 1st:

Bless his heart, I hope he is feeling better today!
