Adorable Pictures of WAO Animals!

I couldn't resist -- had to post these adorable pictures of former WAO cats enjoying their new homes!  I found their pictures on Facebook.  Isn't technology great!

Kizmet and China (aka Christian) at Carolina Tiger Rescue - too cute! 2012

March 28 – Christian, Kizmet, and Max were reunited today.  The three tigers, along with Marcus tiger, all knew each other from their cub days. Max had been separated from the others at Wild Animal Orphanage and then Marcus died on January 19 due to an ulcerated tumor in his mouth. We decided to give Kizmet and Christian some time to adjust before introducing Max back into the group. Group dynamics can change when you lose or introduce a new member, but all the signs were positive (lots of chuffing to each other and time visiting together at the fence). All three tigers were at the shift gate chuffing when we opened the gate that separated them. They continued to chuffle briefly y at each other, then switched sides. There was barely any interaction! They were more excited to see what was on the other side of the gate than to greet the new addition. Now, they all hang out in the same denbox and play together. They may still need time to determine the hierarchy, but they are getting along together well.

China=Christian, Kashmir=Max, Swathe=Marcus, and Kizmet is still Kizmet

Thank God the WAO closed so that the animals could enjoy life again in their new homes!

From Prison to Paradise!

Well, this chimp update brought a huge smile to my face, along with a few tears of happiness! Three out of the five chimps that left the WAO are now living in their new habitat at Chimp Haven.  The chimps went from prison

to paradise!

I noticed there were no pictures of Flick or JoJo.  Hopefully, Chimp Haven will post some more pictures of the chimps, to include the missing chimps.

In the meantime, I read in an article about the chimps new home that Doc has built a nest at the top of the tree! A nest!!  Yea!  He could never had done this at the WAO.

Isn't this the best "happy ending story" for the former WAO HIV+ chimps!?  I am so glad they are out of that horrible "hell hole" as Carol called the WAO years ago, and living today in a wonderful new habitat built especially for them, courtesy of Bob Barker!  This makes the entire WAO nightmare worth the six years (and counting) of my life!  Praise God!
