And the Saga Continues

It looks like the so-called sanctuary finally gave up trying to gain access into my old blog. The animal caretakers from the unregulated, non-inspected property tried for days to locate additional Google cached files, so as to download the posts to their personal computer. Fortunately, I was able to shut down almost all of the cached files, thereby preventing them from reading the rest of my blog. If they really want to know what is going on at the "so-called sanctuary, all they have to do is ask me!

Interesting enough, the so-called sanctuary directors, in an attempt to cover-up what the employees learned from the blog, apparently told the staff that there was a lot of "misinformation" regarding the sanctuary's activities written recently and not to believe everything they read on the Internet.

It would not surprise me in the least of the director told the staff that because of all this "misinformation," the so-called sanctuary plans to "sue me." I say this because the very same tactic was used by the directors back in 2006 when workers and inquiring parties first started questioning the allegations I made to the board of director and to Federal/State agencies. The directors went around telling folks that a TRO (temporary restraining order, which incidentally in the state of Texas can only be filed against a family member or person involved in a domestic violence situation) was filed against me and that they were in the process of suing me (ho hum).

So....here we go again. I believe the directors use this "threat" (1) because they don't want the staff or others to know the truth of what is going on at the so-called sanctuary for fear they may speak out; and (2) it keeps the staff in line and fearful that if they cooperate with outside agencies, they too may be sued.

It explains why the pseudo-sanctuary's attorney and "directors" use the USDA/APHIS inspector's and OAG assistant attorney's first name in outgoing correspondences, telephone conversations, and in person-- clearly it gives the impression to the staff that the USDA and OAG are on their side and not on the side of the complainant.

I cannot imagine what sort of pressure the workers must be feeling right now. If there are any honorable workers in the group, hopefully they will contact the OAG or the USDA and request historical documents on this place, so they can see for themselves I am telling the truth. But, then again, if they were honorable workers, they wouldn't be working at this place, right? And so the saga continues another day...

Startling News about A Board Director

In my last post, I said:
Meanwhile, I learned some startling news regarding one of the board members. I want to first notify the OAG before I blog about my findings. It needs to be a matter of record before I comment further. All I can say is that it may be a major problem for the so-called sanctuary.
I have notified the OAG of my findings and now I am posting it to the blog.

Bubba the White Tiger Lives

I just learned from the APHIS investigator that Bubba, the White Tiger,  is alive!! Turns out another tiger named Bubba Lu (??) (male) died instead. Leave it to the so-called sanctuary to have two tigers named Bubba. While I am saddened another tiger fell victim to the so-called sanctuary, I am relieved to know that my Bubba is still alive. I just pray with all the attention on Bubba, he will be given the best of care from here on out.

Trouble in Paradise

I've learned that all heck broke out at the pseudo-sanctuary within the last week. Apparently, the male director does not spend much time at the main office, while the female director, much to the employees' dismay, now comes into work early in the morning. It is my understanding the female director has been deleting files, shredding documents, and basically purging records. Sounds like someone is a little bit paranoid to me!

The pseudo-sanctuary's employees from the unregulated, non-inspected property apparently downloaded all they could from the Google cache pages. I do not know if the information was shared with the so-called directors, but based on the reports of all the screaming and fighting in the office (which is a lot more than usual), it would not surprise me if they both read the blog. Apparently, the smallest thing sets off the "directors" and adult children "workers." It must be a horrible working in this environment right now. I can't imagine why anyone, not related to the "directors," would want to work at this place.

Hence the reason why I decided to continue my blog diary under a new name (Let Your Heart Take Courage). Once all the investigative cases have been resolved or closed, I'll release BOTH blogs to the public, but for now I plan to keep this blog private -- mainly as a means of therapy. During times of stress, it's best to keep a journal of what is happening so as to have an accurate recording (as I know it at the time) of what transpired. I have reason to believe if the "directors" did learn about the blog information, my life could be in danger. There is certainly reason to be concerned since the pseudo-sanctuary's directors have a history of "bullying" people into silence.

No doubt the "directors" do not want any part of this new blog aired to the public -- especially since it paints a not so pretty picture of what transpired behind the "scenes" of the so-called "sanctuary."

I'm still awaiting word from the APHIS vet to ascertain whether or not Bubba died this month. With the so-called sanctuary allegedly reporting an increased flea, tick, and mosquito population, is it possible that toxic insect poison killed the animals? Or was the big cats' food tainted somehow? What about the water source? With the well water running low due to the drought, could the water be poisonous? Or perhaps it's the meat given out to the animals--it would not surprise me if the tigers are getting sick from eating a steady diet of chicken.

There has to be a reason why so many big cats died (15 cats) from January - July 2009.

Also, it's important to note the "so-called" sanctuary has not paid its land taxes and auto tag taxes on its fleet of trucks and cars this year. The "directors" have not even paid off their own personal land taxes, which is now in arrears for approximately $5,000.  The pseudo-directors continue to claim that the sanctuary is financially sound and doing well.  It's sad to learn that certain board of directors are parroting this claim to others.  Anyone with any common sense would know that the sanctuary is in financial trouble, but instead of doing something about it, the board continues to merrily go along with the pseudo-sanctuary's director false narrative.  I wonder if the board of directors know they can be sued in court if the sanctuary fails to meet its financial obligations--especially if they purposely failed to do something about the sanctuary's financial difficulties.

[Present Day:  Here is proof that a board director reviewed the books and failed to report problems found in the ledgers!]

WAO Records in Order - 062209

I believe the "so-called" sanctuary's latest newsletter went out recently, highlighting Vivi's (the now dead tiger cub) relocation to the WAO. With the sanctuary under financial strain, I wonder how much money the directors will "earn" this year as opposed to the amount paid for animal health care? Does the board even know how many animals died from Jan-July? Chances are only one person knows, and probably not the entire story, and he lives in Florida! No way he'll conduct an investigation into the animal deaths!!

So, for now, all I can do is wait for the next in-house report regarding incidents occurring at the "so-called" sanctuary.  By the way, where is the 2008 990, which has not been submitted to the IRS yet? From what I have been able to learn, the "sanctuary" has not even turned in all its paperwork to the CPA. Wonder if the "sanctuary" plans to claim the pay-off of the "sanctuary's" credit card co-signed by one of the directors (living in Florida) on its 990. The max'd out card was paid off in June 2009, but the "sanctuary" has another credit card, including credit cards from Home Depot and Lowes. Will these liabilities be listed on the 2008 990? Hmmm... doubt it!

So now everyone must wait until what August 15th or November 15th before the latest 990 becomes public? Why won't the "so-called" sanctuary turn in its tax report on time to the IRS (May 15th)? Could it be they are trying to hide all the personal expenses paid for by the animals on the "sanctuary's" credit cards? How about the missing money taken from the till by the female director and her son this year? Was this money ever paid back to the animals? So many questions, and so many missing answers (and animals) from this troubled "paradise."

The Cat is Out of the Bag

Please note: For this blog to make sense, please read the blogs in the following order:

BB Notebook, FOIA and other government records, Texas Animal Sanctuary Underworld and then finally, this blog, Let Your Heart Take Courage.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

Yesterday I noticed an unusual amount of web traffic hitting my personal blog. Concerned, I immediately locked down the blog to invitees only. What happened next was truly astonishing--the person trying to gain access to the blog immediately started looking for all cached blog pages on Google. Sadly, many of my pages were cached and were subsequently downloaded by what appears to be by a current employee of the pseudo-sanctuary. Attempts were also made to hack into my current blog account as evidenced by an unusual email received from the blog host.

Due to the number of pages pulled down from my blog, and the attack to gain entrance to my blog work pages, despite it being closed to the public, has me greatly concerned. Clearly, the perpetrators were desperate to read, possibly print and download my blog for future use against me. I contacted friends of mine in the legal community and was relieved to learn that because I started my blog with a disclaimer that the blog was a product of my personal observations and opinions, my work was protected. I made it a point not to mentioned names, places, or the organization. And certainly, the pseudo-sanctuary and its staff would not want this blog to be a introduced as evidence into court and eventually made available to the public through the Texas Open Records Act. Knowing this does not alleviate my concerns because I am afraid someone may try to harm me--I guess only time will tell. I will continue to blog, but will not grant access to just anyone but possibly a few persons, just to keep them in the loop of what is happening to me. While I am disappointed I cannot open the blog to the public at this time, (even though it has a very long blog title which made it difficult to "Google"), I think it would be in the best interest that I limit access at this time.

Why blog at all?  Blogging is a means to relieve stress over this horrible case. It was suggested as therapy by a friend of  mine several years ago.  When I blog,  I mentally work out all the issues of the case and it also helps keep the facts straight without having to keep several handwritten notebooks.  I see no reason to discontinue blogging at this time. I cannot allow my fear to control me – I must continue to speak out for the animals the best way I know how. So fear not!

I will continue blogging because I want to help others that may find themselves in a similar situation. So, it looks like the cat is now out of the bag…

There is one correction I wanted to make to the blog history.  New information revealed that the 19 year recently hired is not the pseudo-sanctuary's CPA. I believe they hired male CPA that comes into the pseudo-sanctuary’s office once in awhile to review the books. I have to admit hiring another office person did seem strange to me, unless another office employee recently quit?? Who knows anymore!

So I plan to utilize my right to free speech and will continue to learn and write about my discoveries and experiences. I will reiterate once again, this blog is my personal work and of my personal opinion and if someone tries to shut my blog down, then they should be prepared to shut down a lot of other personal blogs out there criticizing HSUS, PETA, and other animal organizations. Thank God I live in America…meow!
