Global Federation Wants to Do A Case Study to Learn Why the WAO Failed!!

Okay, just when I thought the WAO case couldn't possibly enter the realm of nonsense once again, I learned that Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries wants to do a case study as to why the WAO failed so  other animal sanctuaries, facing similar situations, can learn from their "experiences!"  Truly??  Don't believe me?  Read on...

Hi Carol,

We are developing a case study so that other sanctuaries facing similar issues can learn from WAO's experiences and challenges. Che Green of the Humane Research Council and the Handsel Foundation (a GFAS funder) will be conducting phone interviews and we would like you to participate. It's important that we speak with as many people as possible to ensure that the case study reflects the input of everyone involved.

The phone interviews will take place between February 16 and March 11 and will last about 30 minutes each. We will address a wide range of issues relating to WAO's closure, with emphasis on steps that could have been taken, if any, to avoid or overcome the challenges. The case study will be anonymous -- we will not quote anyone directly or associate comments with any interviewees. Please be assured that we will keep your comments confidential.

If you can participate in a short phone interview, please reply to me and to Che Green (copied) with a few dates and times that you're available between 2/16 and 3/11. We will be in touch to provide more details and schedule the interview.

Thank you in advance for your input. We hope this case study will help guide sanctuaries in the future.

Patty

See? I told you so! It is my understanding this email was sent to former WAO board directors and other interested parties (except me of course!). Okay, so let me get this straight...Global Federation wants to know how Ron & Carol Asvestas plus the WAO board of directors, swindled donors and skirted the Animal Welfare Act regulation, so they can pass this information on to other sanctuaries who are faced with "similar issues"...as what? A "How-to-Guide" or "How-to-Avoid-Getting-Caught Guide?"  Oh good grief!

Makes me wonder if Carol Asvestas' new non-profit venture will be accredited by Global Federation?  Looks like Patty Finch even provided membership application instructions in her outgoing email...hmmm.

Next day:

Looks like Animal Shelter Assistance Program INC ASAP is now on Facebook.

So much for the so-called "animal groups" policing its own!  Once again, Carol Asvestas has set up shop with no outcry from the animal community.  Birds of a feather...
