Jinxie is staying nice and warm in her den at In-Sync Exotics. Temperatures have dropped into the 20's overnight and needless to say, I am worried about the three remaining tigers, scheduled to relocate to Florida on December 15, 2011, and the 100 or so monkeys left at the Talley Road property.
The WAO has a horrible record of keeping monkeys safe and warm during freezing temperatures. I only pray Born Free and the USDA/APHIS is making sure the workers provide them with free-flowing water (as every year the water pipes either freeze or burst, thereby denying water to the monks until the pipes defrost or repaired), warm beds, and healthy fruits and vegetables. I doubt writing the USDA/APHIS, asking them to check on the monkeys, will do any good as they have essentially washed their hands of the facility now that they have declared the case "closed."
