It Just Goes to Show You Can't Trust What You Read on the Web!

One of the many disasters that came out of the WAO affair was the murder of the truth.   Journalism is dead.  Long live regurgitated "news."

Case in point - the WAO HIV chimps named Murphy, Pierre, Flick, Doc and JoJo are going to move to Chimp Haven soon.  Sadly, false stories were circulated as to how Chimp Haven came by these animals.  Here are but a few sites that lied in the report of the WAO chimps.  Not one person bothered to learn the truth -- and if they had, what a story they really could have written!

But now the journalism is dead, it's easy to put one over on the general public as for the most part, people no longer care about the who, what, where, when and how...instead people just want mindless sound bites which can be consumed in less than 20 seconds.

See for yourself -- am I telling the truth or what??

“The money will be used to expand the existing chimp habitat to make room for the new chimpanzees, who were living in a now-bankrupt Texas research laboratory.”

Even Chimp Haven, Inc. cannot even come out and say where the Chimps came from--the failed WAO!

“Television celebrity Bob Barker has come to the rescue of five chimpanzees in Texas who need a permanent home. Upon hearing about the plight of the chimpanzees left behind in a facility that has gone bankrupt, Barker made a contribution of $230,000 to Chimp Haven to begin building bedrooms and a habitat for them.”

Chimp Haven, Inc. Nichole, these are the chimpanzees that Bob Barker is helping. They are former research chimps that have been retired, but the facility they have been at is unfortunately going bankrupt. We are very happy that we will be able to give them a great home!
Mark Hernandez I'm confused -- Aren't these chimps coming from the Wild Animal Orphanage in Texas that closed last year due to mismanagement, misappropriation of funds, and numerous violations of the AWA? Did the WAO lend the chimps out for research too?
Truly? WAO is now a research facility?  Why is Chimp Haven lying to the public?  What are they hiding or who are they protecting?  This is just nonsense -- simply "lying" nonsense and all parties involved should be ashamed of themselves for trying to perpetrate this fraud on donors!

Heck, I wonder if even Bob Barker knows the truth about where these animals came from or was he too fed a lot of lies too, just so another sanctuary could secure his $230,000 (reported) donation.

Hey, at least I'm asking some questions in the pursuit of the truth!
