WAO Bankruptcy Financial Statements

Interesting reading...  could not help but notice Henry Newman's name was missing from the list of monies owed to persons or businesses:

I also saw that Michelle Cryer is the only WAO board director left.  Everyone else resigned from their positions.  I guess this explains why the WAO website (yep, the website is back!) no longer has this page up and working.  I pray that this does not mean the Cryers have the first and last word regarding what happens to the remaining WAO animals--if this is true, then I believe the WAO left behind are in grave danger.  

You know, I hope this is a lesson to any wanting to join a board of directors.  Do your homework FIRST!  Do not join a board because it may be a resume enhancer.  Rather, only join a board only if you are knowledgeable of the organization's operation and committed/qualified to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the elected director position.  Be a voice and not a place holder on the board. 

Sadly, the board members from 2006-2009 did not take their responsibilities seriously and the result was the WAO closing its doors forever.  And the lives of the animals may be left to the decision of just one person who should have never been elected on the board of directors in the first place -- Michelle Cryer.  May God protect the WAO animals left behind.
