Primates Left in the Cold

Well, the weather has gotten colder this week, with overnight temperatures dipping to around 38 degrees.

A couple of days ago, a friend of mine, in passing, decided to peek through the fence boards to see if there were any animals left.

All she could see were a few monkeys living in the old quarantine area. The few monkeys still at the WAO (pictured left) were from Bayer and it is unknown if they have heat to keep them warm this winter.

What about the other monkeys still needing a home living at Talley Road.  Do they finally have heat?  And the sick or aging big cats--are they warm and comfortable?

I learned that Gail A'Brunzo from IFAW may be in San Antonio, helping the animal caretakers care for the remaining animals.  How long will IFAW continue to send people to San Antonio to care for the remaining animals?  Will someone eventually assume responsibility for the animals?  Or will IFAW  considered the primates and big cats (like Lance pictured right) a nuisance and eventually have them euthanized?
