Well, I spoke with the law office responsible for processing the paperwork for the delinquent taxes owed by the Asvestas.
The Asvestas are currently on a payment plan, $300 per month, from October 15 – December 2010. Once the payment plan expires, the Asvestas will have to go back to the Tax Office and start a new payment plan. The Asvestas will also have to pay the current taxes owed by February 1, 2011; else enter into a new agreement that would essentially increase their monthly payment. So far, the Asvestas are still paying taxes for 2008 and 2009, plus 2010.
If the Asvestas fail to comply with the payment plan agreement, the house could go up for auction at the County Courthouse steps.
For now, justice for the animals will have to wait a little longer.
Meanwhile the animasasap.org website is still completely down. Perhaps the OAG, USDA, and the IRS may finally take legal steps against the Asvestas in light of the latest scam. Now that would be true justice for the WAO animals!
